The concern with the health and the well being of all practitioners of the so-called adventure sports was the base for organizing the 1st JOURNEYS ON CARE AND RESCUE IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.

It is our goal to stimulate the debate on the fields of prevention and rescue connected to these activities that, attending to the environment in which they take place, suffer from very specific health-related needs.

The escape from city life and working stress, together with the attraction of discovering nature and all its sensations, leads to a constantly increasing number of people seeking for outdoor activities. Therefore, it is very important to make sure that the medical assistance means, to practitioners as well as for surrounding populations, keep up with this growth, not only in quantity, but also on quality.

The scientific contents, the video sessions, the active participation of all federations that support the initiative and the contact with the scene in neighbor countries will certainly be sufficient reasons to justify your presence on this journeys.

The support provided by the University of Aveiro as well as by several companies and institutions can already be considered as a good starting sign of success for these Journeys.
